Location Assessment
Bad location is one of the major reasons a restaurant fails. Poor visibility, no parking, no foot traffic, or a cultural cursed, such as
a neighborhood known for bad restaurants, are just a few of the problems associated with a bad restaurant location.
A restaurant's location is as crucial to its success as great food and service. It will influence many parts of your restaurant, including the menu. If you already have a certain restaurant
location in mind, don’t get too attached until you know if it has all the right requirements for a successful restaurant.
There are four crucial elements to consider when looking at a potential restaurant location: Population Base, Parking, Accessibility, Visibility.
We can provide you with the manpower and expertise to review multiple potential locations, and generate powerful stakeholder presentations.

Disposal of Redundant Equipment & Furniture
When my restaurant closed a few years ago after all the tears and recriminations we had to try to get as much as possible back to the
investors. We decided to sell the equipment which had originally costs us almost $500,000. We had a local dealer to arrange an auction, and we sold most of the furniture and a few of the
larger pieces, at as you might imagine a very steep discount. Yet our more specialize equipment, especially our ovens, [I was in love with those ovens], did not sell because the right
buyers didn’t show to the auction. The landlord was putting a lot of pressure on us so we had to move quickly, because he was threatening to seize the equipment if we didn’t pay another
month’s rent at $35, 200 a month.
To make a long sad story short, we hired a local moving company to come in and move the equipment into storage. That it turned out was the most expensive mistake we
could have made. These guys didn’t understand the equipment or realize either the functional or cosmetic value of the equipment. Much of the equipment was dented, wires were cut at places
that required the equipment to be repaired prior to sale, and some key flanges were deformed. In the end we lost more money on that equipment then we would have paid for the extra month’s
rent.
Based upon this experience, I started working with Alacrity to put together this specialized equipment moving company. Our guys will give your equipment the white
glove treatment that it deserves, especially if you want to retain the bulk of its resale value.
Give us a try…you won’t be sorry!
